THE JARL
The face of the operation. You can find the full saga in the About Me section above.
MORTICIA
The Shield-maiden and my everything. They say behind every great man is a great woman; the truth is, I’d simply be lost without her.
MY GIRLS
Harley and Rags. Raising daughters has been the greatest privilege of my life. They’re grown now, but getting time with them is still the best part of any day.
THE BOY
Atreus. My grandson and the greatest gift. Son of Rags, he has brought a new level of meaning to everything I do.
THE BEST MATE
The oath-brother. We’ve been mates since we were 16 years old. Too much history to count and a bond that’s stood the test of time.

I am not a fan of Halloween Kirt - nor all the plastic crap that is sold ahead of October 31st. When I were a lad growing up in East Yorkshire, Halloween really was not a thing compared with Bonfire Night. Now it seems to be the other way round.
ReplyDeleteLast night (Oct 20th) I watched Victoria Derbyshire on "Newsnight" interviewing three survivors of the Aberfan tragedy. It was a very moving and tender programme but there was lasting bitterness there as well. You might be able to catch it on BBC i-Player.
Such young lives, so cruelly snuffed out long before their time.
ReplyDeleteIt was a shocking disaster at the time and still rings down today, the suffocating coal heap that slid down to engulf all those children and adults.
