2004.26 PROJECT SHED IS ON

The day I've strived for and saved for for many many years is finally in front of me. I've ordered my shed. Some may scoff and roll their eyes - a shed? After all a shed is just a garden building for storage isn't it. Well I hope not. For years I've wanted a space I can look after my bikes, do little DIY jobs and maybe even escape too when life gets a bit too much.

1104.23 ST GEORGE
As usual for this time of year we are all down south visiting Morticia's mother and her partner. I enjoy the break and for a change my eldest is behaving pretty well.Today is St George's Day, the day we celebrate our Englishness. We visited the town centre today, it's been extremely hot so after perusing local shops we sat outside the cafe in the town square for a cuppa. I couldn't help but look on in envy at the lone cyclist enjoying a break. I really want that, the bike, the journey, the lifestyle. As we enjoyed our break we were treated to some unexpected entertainment.
Morris dancing, how English, how apt. Even Rags had a go. Perfect.
I purchased 2 books from the Cat Protection charity shop and was given a free one from the box of unsaleable book box.
Tonight is Doctor Who night with the premiere of the new series. It's been taped (is it people of my aged group that say 'taped' when they mean Sky+ or similar?) and I'm still waiting to watch it.

1004.04 ELEVENTH HOUR
I've been defending the changes all along to the doubters (Doctor Who's gift is that it can refresh and 'regenerate' and it is that that keeps it from going stale) and yesterday at 18:20 was time to find out whether my faith was misplaced or not.
I was pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed, it was a fun, action packed opener which helped flesh out the new Time Lord's character. Amy Pond, the new companion looks to be the best yet (and she's gorgeous to boot). All in all I'm more excited now about the new series than I was before.
Fish fingers and custard? Hmmmm.

1001.03 ALLONS-Y
I remember when the series returned and how exciting it all was, how my youngest daughter embraced the show and how all the family sat down on a Saturday to watch. I was initially disappointed to see Christopher Eccleston leave but I have to say that the show wouldn't have continued without the power and enthusiasm of Mr Tennant.
We all watched the rollercoaster that was the 10th Doctor's final moments and then, with tears in our eyes, he regenerated...
I have high hopes for the new series, I don't listen to the negativity because that's what has always happened (at least it has in my lifetime) when a Doctor has regenerated.
Geronimo...
