2404.27 BABIES, CARS AND HOSPITALS

Considering just how much has been going on recently you wouldn't be mistaken for thinking that I had plenty of excuses for posting a blog. Unfortunately all I've had on my plate has been a tad overwhelming. But here we are, or at least here I am.

Last week was my youngest daughter’s baby shower. Very few would raise an eyebrow at this, but for me, this is very new. You see, baby showers are relatively new in the United Kingdom. I was roasted on social media when I voiced a question about whether the event was a “girlie event” and wondered if it was right that I was going—as I was requested to do.

I attended as I was expected to and had an enjoyable afternoon. They (my daughter and her boyfriend) went the whole hog with a gender reveal to boot.

Hey, guess what? We're getting have a grandson! I'm so excited, I can't even contain myself. Now, all we've got to do is wait for the little chap to finish baking in the oven.

We've been busy cleaning the spare room for the new baby, and we've also been working on Rags' room so she can fit a bigger bed for her and her boyfriend who's moving in until they can find their own place.

In other news, we encountered a minor vehicular issue that caused me some anxiety as it posed a potential threat to our upcoming holiday. Fortunately, the situation is looking better although we've arranged for our mechanic to take a look before our trip.

Regarding the third point mentioned in the title of this post, I would like to discuss hospitals, specifically one particular hospital we've had the pleasure in visiting recently. I am unable to provide detailed information as it is not my story to share. However, I can inform you that Morticia has experienced a health concern over the past few months. Fortunately, she has been lucky and the medical prognosis is quite positive. Although, there is a procedure and treatment that she will undergo in the near future.

In summary, the year has been quite challenging and unpredictable so far. I am hopeful that the upcoming months will be less demanding and stressful.
