It's a little early in the year to be contemplating a trip west to Wales but here we are preparing for just that. Why so early in the year? Well we are going for a very special occassion.
This isn't the main holiday. In fact there isn't a main holiday planned at this moment. This is just a short break, a few days. It's also the first time in 7 years that we will have holiday-ed with both kids (even though they are now all grown up). We are coming together for a special event which I'll reveal at the time.
The journey was started early, but probably not as early as I would have liked. We left home at 6:20am. There was a few delays along the way - roadworks on Woodhead Pass, the usual queuing at Motram and heavy traffic through Manchester. It knocked us back about an hour.
We arrived in New Quay at 13:20(ish) and had a walk about at the front before a quick drink at the 'Penlon at the Beach'.
We booked into the caravan just after 3 where we were greeted with a lovely surprise. Friends came across to see us and to convey an invite to a social event.
So now I'm getting ready to go out, I'm a little tired but looking forward to a good evening that I hope will be the beginning of a fantastic few days of celebration.
