2009.06 COUNTDOWN

It seems I am always counting down the days to my next day off or to my next pay day. I can't wait for the time to pass but as I get older I realise I shouldn't be throwing time away.

I have a sign in my house that says...
"Don't count the days, make the days count"
It's corny but very true. I'm sure we all do it but we all need to be mindful about pissing the time away just waiting for the next thing. It can be hard sometimes but I know I need to make the effort after all I'm not getting any younger, in fact I have that landmark birthday coming up next year.

Speaking of counting down (and following on from my last post) we managed to book a short break to our 'happy place' in Wales (as previously mentioned). That is something worth counting down albeit in the background.

Changing the subject, my youngest daughter just returned from her first holiday without us (not including a school trip to Paris a number of years ago). I published this strip to illustrate...

It's a nervous time for parents when your children branch out on their own especially when they go off on their own. She went to Italy with a friend staying in Rome and visiting all the sights as well as venturing to Naples to visit Pompeii (something I'd love to see). She handled the trip really well and is looking forward to the next time.
