1604.10 NATIONAL POLYESTER

It's a bit of a tradition in our house to have a little flutter on the Grand National. We aren't a gambling household and apart from the odd EuroMillions rollover and Morticia's odd bingo outing we don't do betting. We usually pick 5 horses and bet £1 each to win. None of us know anything about horse racing so everything else aside we chose based on the name only.

The thing is none of the horses we choose usually win (or even finish). This year though the horse Morticia picked was the winner - Rule The World. It came in at 33/1 which gave us a winning of £34!

It's a shame some of her friends on Facebook couldn't have been pleased for her, a couple got on their 'high horse' (excuse the pun) about the ethics of horse racing.

Well done Morticia :)

I'll keep my Grand National tale for my blog if I feel up to blogging that is :)

It's a damn shame when people use your success or happiness to just shoe horn in their own thing. If you don't like horse racing then complain about it in your own time. Congrats on winning. I think I'd avoid odds like that myself. Whoever came up with them must be kicking themselves. It also goes to show that the highest odds don't always win.

People suddenly get very opinionated when they behind a keyboard. I have very little time for those people.

I look forward to it...

The odds were never a consideration, she picked the horse because it shared the name of a Take That song.

People can say what they want on their own feeds but Morticia has a chronic illness and it was the highlight of her day, really cheered her up. It's a shame someone chose to get all opinionated on her good luck. Bet they wouldn't dare to do it to her face though!

Pft! People. On the internet. What do any of them know, anyway?

I hope you guys spent your winnings on something fun, like an exotic vacation, or a gift shop t-shirt! :)

I've got little time for keyboard warriors.

Probably spend the winnings on a carvery dinner next Sunday.
