I haven't posted a blog for quite some time and there's a reason for that. We are living through dark times and it's difficult to get the motivation to write. But I know writing is theraputic so I really must.
So what's going down in my life at the moment?
Well, we finally laid my Nan to rest at the beginning of February after Covid delayed her funeral. The service went ahead on the 1st of this month. It felt like a long time coming. There was a small inheritance, so like when Grandad passed 11 years ago, we bought a new TV. I know she'd have approved.
If you thought 2021 was bad then 2022 said "hold my beer", the pandemic restrictions maybe easing but the world seems to be getting madder by the day. The Russians have invaded the Ukraine and taken to the brink of World War III. Our home politicians are just as mad, I'm not even going to get into it here. I remember the first months of the pandemic it was thought that society might 'reset' and it was the world's chance to change for the better, well that never happened.
Energy prices are about to double, fuel prices are shooting through the roof as is the cost of living. That pay cut two years ago is really about to kick in! It's not a great time.
But it's not all bad, at work the supervisor I didn't get on with has moved on and his replacement seems to be so much more reasonable. Work has always been ruined by those above not understanding that we can do our jobs with out micro-managing. Apart from the pay cut things are looking up (finally).
Things are dark at the moment but I know that I don't have it too bad in the bigger picture. I'll continue to get on with it and hopefully we'll see it through to the other side.
