2310.22 TIME FOR JUMPERS

It's been unseasonably warm this season which is currently in the process of change. Weather isn't always a cyclist's friend, the cold and wet together with wind and ice sometimes make the rides dangerous or just plain unpleasant. As I write this Storm Babet is battering the country (it's safe to say I didn't cycle to work today - Friday).

World events make for depressing reading, it seems that half the world wants to kill the other in one way or another. What with climate change, the war in Ukraine and now it's kicking off in the Middle East! Domestic news isn't good either but, hey, let us try and keep things light.

Over the years I have tutored many new starters at work some (in fact most) have gone on to do great things. I had said that I'd never do it again since our pay cut but apparently I've been assigned a "tutee" starting next week. I have been given assurances that I won't be doing the day-to-day stuff and only looking after the training paperwork. We'll see how that pans out. I'm passionate about what I do so my expectations are pretty high.

There is some good news for next February. I just booked a hotel in York for an overnight stay during the Jorvik Viking Festival (like we did this year). I can't wait to immerse myself in the Nordic vibe. I especially loved the "Valhalla" pub which will definitely get another visit. We've also booked next year's trip to our happy place, as part of Morticia's special birthday celebrations we will be having an extended stay next May.
