1702.09 UTOPIA ACHIEVABLE?
Watching Star Trek
for all these years means I've been curious about the economy of the future.
Captain Picard said that in the 24th century that people pursue personal
enrichment rather than material items. But people still own property, have
businesses and still acquire 'things'. So how does that work?

1702.03 GROUNDHOG DAY
This post isn't about the 1993 movie nor is it about the American tradition involving a fat ferret.
I don't blog about work. I have to be careful about what I say about work online. It's not like I'm a spy or anything (although if I was I'm guessing I'd say that anyway) they're just very strict. For the most part I enjoy my job, no two days are the same and I like that aspect.

1702.01 EVIL TAKES THE DAY OFF #01
It's been quite a few years since I drew a comic strip. When I was a kid I used to create entire comics and always wanted to draw for the Beano. Sadly that never came to pass but now I have the ability to self publish on my website. So after quite a bit of thought, loads of doodles and a number of revisions - here is my first edition. I've titled it "Evil Takes a Day Off", I want to look at what supervillians do when they aren't trying to take over the world. Enjoy...

1701.25 SPLIT
I've been considering getting rid of my unlimited cinema pass since I haven't been going nearly enough. To me it's more than a card to enable me to access something I love, it's a symbol of freedom to get out of the monotonous tedium of life.

1701.25 KILLER TOAST AND NIGHT OWLS
These days when we are all trying to keep as healthy as possible (well most want to) we find ourselves juggling fitness and diet. It's difficult since foods that are good or bad for us seems to change almost weekly. If fact this week we are being told that toast is a potential killer!

1701.20 BYE BYE GROSVENOR
Back in 1999 I married my Morticia. The day was perfect and as you may expect was one of the greatest days of my life (and I don't say that lightly). An important part of our day was the venues. Our reception venue was chosen after an intense search for a suitable place.

1701.12 A NOTE TO MY YOUNGER SELF
I know this has been done before (I've read similar on at least 3 blogs before) but I've always wanted to do this. So here's the set up; you have one opportunity to briefly travel back in time and hand yourself a short note in the past.

1701.08 BLOGGING ON THE GO
I'm writing this to share how today, in 2017, I'm preparing an creating my blog posts. Ever since I got my first PDA many years ago (a Palm m100) I've been blogging from wherever I find myself. That is I use a device to make rough notes to expand on later.

1701.05 NEW GLASSES DAY
This happened just before Christmas but it was difficult for me to squeeze the post in. It's the most exciting thing for a glasses wearer.

1701.03 TIME TO GET REAL
Christmas is over
for another year and as we all pack away the baubles and the tinsel it's time
to assess the damage. In all probability we've overspent and still have to buy
food to last until the next payday.

1612.31 THE END
As year draws to a close many reflect on the events of the year. Some say that 2016 has been a really bad year and in many respects. Political upheaval, celebrity deaths as well as the usual war and terror. It's difficult not to say it's been a bad year.

1612.28 MAY THE FORCE BE WITH HER
As I sit here trying to contemplate what to write I am still numb with shock at the passing of Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher. The world were hoping for her recovery following her suffering a heart attack on a flight from the UK as she travelled home for Christmas. I am truly gutted.
